Before departure

A large tent (e.g., 8 x 4 m) is only 32 m², while many European pitches are 60 m².

So, you don’t necessarily need an oversized pitch for a Karsten Tent. That said, the size of your camping pitch is still important. Always double-check that it matches your tent’s dimensions—and don’t forget to allow for at least one extra metre on each side for the guy lines.

We recommend an eco-groundsheet. It lets rainwater drain into the soil (unlike other groundsheets that trap water, causing issues) while keeping your tent’s tub groundsheet clean. It’s reusable, protective, and eco-friendly—win-win!

Karsten Tents come with sturdy grass/clay pegs as standard, but different terrains call for different pegs:

  • Rocky/pebble ground: Use rock pegs.
  • Sandy soil: Opt for wooden pegs.

Stock up on the right pegs to keep your tent secure, whatever the campsite throws at you.
